Description:A frenetic, nonsensical remake of the classic 1979 movie. Michael Douglas and Albert Brooks trash the classic roles of Peter Falk and Allan Arkin. By halfway through the movie, none of it makes sense. Douglas is a CIA agent trying to trap a smuggler by faking him into buying a submarine. Brooks, a doctor, is dragged along kicking and screaming into all sorts of stupid situations.

Review - In-Laws, The

Bad enough on its own, it's awfulness is heightened by comparison to the earlier version.

The most ridiculous part is when the submarine is delivered off the shore of Chicago — Does nobody know there are locks and canals all along the way from the ocean to Lake Michigan? How are you going to sneak a stolen Russian nuclear sub through there?
