Description:Jonas Nightengale (Steve Martin) is a traveling faith healer who cons people out of their money with the help of his assistant, Jane Larson (Debra Winger). Their road show gets stranded in Rustwater, Kansas, so they decide to put on a revival. Sheriff Will Braverman (Liam Neeson) hates to see the poor people in his town getting conned out of their money, and he does whatever he can to stop Jonas — while falling for Jane.

When a local crippled boy believes in Jonas enough to start walking, the town goes crazy. But Jonas realizes his entire life is phony and takes off on his own.

Funny and sad at the same time. Funny that people could possibly be tricked by such and obvious fake, and sad because people actually are, and think they're serving the Lord while they do it.
