| Description: | Alex Fletcher (Hugh Grant) is an aging pop star who spends his days performing at state fairs and high-school reunion. Up and coming singer/dancer Cora decides she wants Alex to write a song to be performed at her next show. Alex needs to find a lyricist, and when Sophie (Drew Barrymore), the girl who waters his plants, fills in a line, he arranged to work with her. They manage to write a hit and fall in love, but break up over an argument about how Cora is going to do their song. Alex writes a song especially for Sophie and convinces Cora to do their song their way. They go on to a successful career writing music and lyrics. |
