Reviews for Nine Months
Review - Nine Months
Samuel is a successful child psychologist who doesn’t like children. When his girlfriend Rebecca announces that she’s pregnant, he has a hard time adjusting. Through coincidence and family friends, they meet and eventually become friends with Marty and Gail, who are having their fourth child. When Samuel misses yet another appointment with Rebecca’s doctor, she leaves him and goes to stay with Gail. Samuel misses her and begins adjusting to the thought of having a kid. He sells his Porshe and decorates the baby’s room. When Marty tells him that Rebecca is in the hospital with contractions at seven months, Samuel goes and apologizes and proposes. They get married. The baby is born at the same time and in the same room as Gail’s, and everything’s hunky-dorey.
There were a few cute moments, like when Samuel was rushing Rebecca to the hospital along with the hostess at the restaurant who cut her hand when Rebecca’s water broke. On the way they almost hit an old man who had heart pains and rides along. They then hit a bicyclist who breaks his leg and also rides along. But the delivery-room scene, with chaos and yelling and a fist fight between Samuel and Marty, was just loud and stupid, as were similar scenes at a family dinner and a toy store.
