Henry is in advertising, but just got fired. He travels to New York with his wife to interview for a new job. But nothing goes as planned. Their plane gets re-routed to Boston. They get lost on the NYC freeway system. They get mugged. They get thrown out of a motel. They get kidnapped by bank robbers. They spend the night in Central Park. Henry gets thrown in jail and given drugs. The make enemies with Mr. Mersault, but when Nancy sees him dressed in the clothing of a woman staying at the hotel, they blackmail him into giving them a room. Henry shows up at his interview an hour late and is dismissed because the agency is trying to come up with a new slogan for a NYC campaign. Henry tells them about his adventures and says, “only in New York.” Of course, they love it and give him the job.

Frenetic. Steve Martin and Goldie Hawn spend the entire movie running around making silly faces and screaming. There were a few mildly amusing moments, but not many.
