Description:It's 1925, Jimmy 'Dodge' Connelly's (George Clooney) Duluth pro football franchise is in trouble. Dodge offers a large contract to Carter Rutherford (John Krasinski), war hero and great college player. Things go haywire when Carter jumps to the Chicago team and reporter Lexie Littleton (Renée Zellweger) reveals that Carter's war record has been considerably imbellished. The result is that pro football gains a commissioner and Dodge's brand of anything-goes football is outlawed. But not before Duluth plays one last game against Carter's Chicago team — and wins with a trick play. Dodge is out of the sport, but that's OK, because he gets the girl.

Review - Leatherheads

Sal and I saw this at Showplace 16 because I'd read that it resembled the madcap comedies of the 1930s. The characters were pretty good, but the football action was rather dull and, utimately, the story was forgettable.
