Review - Someone Like You
Brief Synopsis: Jane works for the Diane Roberts’ Show, finding guests. A new employee, Ray, shows up and they have a fling. But just before she moves in with Ray, he dumps her. Without an apartment, she is forced to move in with Eddie, another employee who is a womanizer. Jane is hurt about being dumped, so she writes this treatise about how men are always looking for new women. Her friend Liz publishes it in her magazine, giving Jane the byline of an elderly female scientist. The work becomes famous, and Diane wants the scientist on her show. Jane works out a phone interview, but at the last minute decides to appear and confess. (She had changed her mind about men because she saw how loyal her brother-in-law was when her sister had a miscarriage.) Through all of this, she and Eddie had been talking, and they finally realize they’re attracted to each other.
What I liked about it: Ashley Judd is cute. Sal likes Hugh Jackman. Their characters were stupid though.
What I didn’t like about it: Stupid, implausible plot, not great acting.
