Several galaxies are seceding from the federation. The senate wants to build an army but Senator Amidala is against it. There is an attempt on her life, and Jedi trainee Anakin Skywalker is assigned to protect her. Anakin and Amidala fall in love. Meanwhile, Obi-wan travels to a planet to look for the person who hired the assassin to kill Amidala. He discovers an army of clones that were supposedly commissioned by the senate. In the crisis, the senate gives Chancellor Palpatine dictatorial powers.

Obi-wan chases Jett, the bounty hunter the clones are copies of. He gets captured by the evil Jedi Count Dooku. Soon, Anakin and Amidala are also captured when they travel to Anakin’s home planet to look for his mother. Dooku attempts to have all three of them killed in the arena, but Yoda and the other Jedi arrive in time to rescue them. A war begins between the Senate’s clones and Dooku’s droids. Dooku fights and defeats Obi-wan and Anakin, cutting off Anakin’s arm. Dooku escapes and visits his master who reveals that starting a war was his objective all along. Anakin and Amidala marry.

I know that my review is confusing, but I found the movie confusing. It was watchable, and even interesting at times, but lacked humor or interesting characters. I can’t stand Christopher Lee in any role, and I thought McGregor played Ob-wan like a slow-witted dork. I know the plot has to be developed along certain lines to fit with the original trilogy, but that doesn’t’ help it at all.
