Kittredge is an incompetent reporter in Russia who is the only reporter who failed to report on the German invastion in WWII. He gets fired and tries to find a big story so he can get his job back. His girlfriend, Christina, works for the same news agency and agrees to give him $5,000 for a tip from an informer on a story. But through a mix-up, another girl, Sally, from the pool goes to get the story. Some Axis heavies get the short-hand code from the girl, then kidnap her because they can’t read her shorthand. Kittredge goes to look for his informer. The Gestapo plot to make him look foolish so nobody will print his stories and he’ll quit looking for information. They drug Kittredge and make him think he’s married to Gloria, the “Glow Girl.” It get’s played up in all the papers, but Christina believes his side of the story. Gloria decides she doesn’t want to front for Nazis and determines to tell Kittredge everything, but is killed before she can say anything. Kittredge follows a clue she gave him just before she died and goes to a florist. He’s grabbed by the bad guys. Christina follows another clue and is also grabbed. Kittrege gets free and leads a merry chase through a beauty salon. He hides as a mannequin in the conference room where the Nazis have a meeting and reveal their plans to launch a series of attacks across the country. A bunch of Christina’s girlfriends show up with their Marine boyfriends and catch all the bad guys. Kittredge is the hero and marries Christina.

It was silly. A typical Bob Hope movie. Amusing enough but forgettable.
