They take wealthy broker Louis Winthorpe (Dan Aykroyd), frame him for embezzlement, take away his money, and watch him fall apart. They also take street beggar Billy Ray Valentine (Eddie Murphy) and give him all of Winthorpe's advantages and a job, and he succeeds. But when Valentine overhears the brothers talking about their bet, he teams up with Winthorpe, a hooker (Jamie Lee Curtis), and Winthorpe's butler (Denholm Elliot) and grab the stock report the brothers were planning to use to corner the market. The four make millions and ruin the Dukes.

Review - Trading Places

This is one of those movies I mostly watched on TV. The amount of swearing surprised me, but the story is amusing.
