Description:Robert Mitchum is Mr. Allison, a marine stranded on a South Pacific island during World War II. The only other occupant of the island is Sister Angela (Debra Kerr), a nun about to take her final vows. When the Japanese set up a base on the island, the two are forced to take refuge together in a small cave. As time goes by, they begin to care for each other. Allison proposes, but in the end, Angela decides to go ahead with her vows. The U.S. Marines invade, helped by Allison who is wounded disabling the Japanese guns.

The characters were good, although we couldn't help thinking Sister Angela's determination to be a nun was a waste. The thing that bugged me most was the way the Japanese conveniently looked the other direction whenever there was a chance the two refugees might be spotted.
