Description:Carl Fredrickson promises his wife Ellie that someday he will take her to paradise falls. After a long and happy life together, he finally buys the tickets. But he waited too long. Ellie dies and Carl decides to go on his own. He ties thousands of helium balloons to his house and takes off. Soon thereafter, he discovers an adventure scout, Russell, clinging to his porch. He reluctantly lets Russell in. The house comes down on the other side of the canyon, and Carl and Russell start dragging it to the falls. Russell finds a large, colorful bird that loves chocolate. He brings it along and names it Kevin. The hikers are then surrouned by a pack of dogs that force them to a cave where Carl finds his childhood hero, Charles Muntz who is searching for Kevin to take him back to civilization. Carl has a choice, live his dream with Ellie or help Russell rescue Kevin from the evil Muntz. After finding a note from Ellie encouraging him to have his own adventures, he takes off and manages to rescue Kevin. He and Russell return to the city and become good friends.

Review - Up

There was a lot to like in this movie — the first 10 minutes are fantastic. But I just can't get past Charles Muntz and his pack of talking dogs. That was contrived and unnecessary and I cringed whenever they were on screen. Except for A Bug's Life, this may have been my least favorite Pixar movie so far.
