Reviews for Major Dundee
Review - Major Dundee
Heston plays Dundee well, but somehow the movie fails to convince.

| Description: | During the final year of the Civil War, Major Dundee (Charlston Heston) leads a mixed troop of U.S. Cavalry troops, Confederate prisoners and civilians on a quest to wipe out a band of renegade Apaches. The Confederate leader, Captain Tyreen (Richard Harris) vows to kill Dundee when the quest is over. The troop travels into Mexico where they get supplies from a village and skirmish with a French force. Dundee is injured but gets back to the troop in time to ambush the Apaches. Crossing back over the Rio Grande, they fight the French and most of the troop is killed, including Tyreen. The major theme is Dundee's obsession with his mission. |
