Review - Where the Sidewalk Ends
Pretty good. Film noir that doesn't go overboard. The characters were believable and Gene Tierney was Gene Tierney.

Description: | Mark Dixon (Dana Andrews) is a tough cop on probation for being to rough. When he accidentally kills a witness to a crime, he covers it up. The crime is blamed on a taxi driver, but Mark finds himself falling for the taxi driver's daughter Morgan (Gene Tierney). He is afraid of turning out like his criminal father, so after capturing the guy who committed the original crime, he confesses his part in killing the witness — who turns out to be Morgan's husband (they were separated because he was a drunk who hit her). Morgan believes in Mark and promises to stick around until he's out of trouble. |
