Description:Harry Houdini (Guy Pearce) travels to Scotland. He has offered $10,000 to anyone who can tell him his mother's last words. Mary McGarvie (Catherine Zeta-Jones) does a psychic act with her daughter Benji (Saoirse Ronan), but she needs the money. She convinces Houdini to give her a chance. They fall for each other — but Mary discovers that she reminds Houdini of his mother. Houdini's manager tells Mary that Houdini wasn't at his mother's death bed. Mary refuses to go through with the "show," but her daughter does, pretending to channel Houdini's mother. They get the money, and Houdini and Mary spend a night together, but Houdini dies before they ever see each other again.

Review - Death Defying Acts: Houdini's Secret

The atmosphere of the movie was impressive, but the plot was lame, particularly the hint that Benji really had psychic powers.
