| Description: | Part-time Philadelphia bartender Vince Papale (Mark Wahlberg) shows up for a try-out for the Eagles and impresses coach Dick Vermeil (Greg Kinnear) who puts him on the special team squad. Vince dates (and later marries) fellow bartender Janet (Elizabeth Banks). The movie is loosely based on the career of the real Papale who actually tried out for a WFL team and played there for two years before joining the Eagles. He played three years before getting injured and retiring. |
