Review - La Doublure
Neither deep or memorable, but midly amusing for the hour and a half it lasted. All the characters were likeable except for Pierre.

| Description: | English title — The Valet Wealthy businessman Pierre is photographed with his supermodel mistress Elena (Alice Taglioni). Pierre's wife, Christine (Kristin Scott Thomas) sees the photograph and confronts her husband. He begs off with a story about how the model is the girlfriend of another man in the photo, Francois (Gad Elmaleh) a valet at a restaurant. Francois has just had his heart broken when his proposal to Emilie (Virginie Ledoyen) was rejected. Both Elena (for 20 million francs) and Francois (for enough money to pay off Emilie's mortgage on her bookstore) agree to go along with the deception. Elena expects Francois to be a creep, but when she finds out he's only interested in Emilie, she helps her win her love. Meanwhile Christine knows what her husband is pulling and traps him into admitting that he never plans to divorce her and marry Elena. She sends the tape of this conversation to Elena who dumps Pierre. |
