Description:Sally Trent (Claudette Colbert) has a daughter out of wedlock. The child's father, Mike Gardner, is a wealthy man who heads to China before he knows Sally is pregnant. Sally can't find work and is forced to give up the child to an orphanage. In a few years, she becomes a singer, changes her name to Mimi Benton and takes up with Tony Cummings, playboy and owner of a radio station. While visiting Tony, Mimi steps in and covers for an actress playing Aunt Jenny on a childrens program. She's such a hit that she takes on the role full-time. When she gets a letter from a little girl, she decides to use the program to find her own daughter. Meanwhile, Mike returns. When he discovers what has happened, he determines to get Mimi back. He finds their daughter and the movie ends with the three of them together.

Review - Torch Singer

Pretty racy (it was produced before the code was enforced) in theme, if not in presentation. But that's OK. It gets its point across and, for a movie this old, wasn't too bad.
