Description:I saw the Mystery Science Theater version. A giant lizard wanders around a Texas town, wrecking cars and trains and, apparently eating people. The sheriff works with a local teen who drives a hot rod and works at a garage to track down the clues. The teen fills his car with nitro glycerine and runs it into the monster, killing it.

Review - Giant Gila Monster, The

This movie was so bad it was ... still really bad. It was so bad it was almost, but not quite, entertaining. Mystery Science Theater provided a few laughs, but not many. The production and special effects were pathetic, about what you would expect from a couple of 14-year olds shooting in their backyard. In no shot do you actually see the lizard actually causing any damage. It just wanders around in the vicinity and bad things happen off camera.
