Description:Guinevere Pettigrew (Frances McDormand) is an unemployed, and unemployable, nanny. As she's rejected for the last time by the agency, she sneaks a card off the desk and goes to the address. She immediately finds herself helping Delysia LaFosse (Amy Adams) clean up her mess — a man upstairs in bed and another one coming up the stairs. When Miss Pettigrew succeeds, she finds herself as Delysia's social secretary. The young woman wants a part in a new play and is having a fling with the producer while living off the owner of the nightclub where she works. A third man, Michael, plays the piano in her act and is the only man who loves Delysia for who she is. Michael wants her to marry him and move to New York. Meanwhile, Miss Pettigrew gets a makeover and meets Joe, a famous fashion designer who finds her straightforwardness appealing. Miss Pettigrew gets Delysia the part she wants, but then realizes she's done her wrong and helps her make the decision to go with Michael. Her job done, Miss Pettigrew goes back to the soup kitchen, but Joe tracks her down and asks her to marry him.

Review - Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day

I can see why some people would think this was a good movie, but I didn't care much for it. As much as I generally like Amy Adams, I found her character extremely annoying in this movie.
