Review - Merry Gentleman, The
Very slow paced and certainly not cheery, but compelling at some level.

| Description: | Kate Frazier (Kelly Maconald) is married to a cop who beats her. She runs away and settles in another city where she gets a job as a receptionist. One day, as she leaves the office, she sees a man standing on the edge of a building. She screams, and the man falls backwards. Dave, another cop who comes to investigate, asks her out, but she's not interested. Then she meets Frank Logan (Michael Keaton) who helps her. She doesn't know he's a hit man, and the two soon hit if off. When Kate's husband tracks her down, Frank finds out. The next day, the husband is found dead. Dave puts the pieces together and warns Kate about Frank. He admits it, but promises he'd never hurt her. He leaves and fakes his death. At the end of the movie, Frank is walking away alone and Kate is sitting on the couch alone, ignoring Dave's knocks. |
