Peck is rather wooden, Collins is pointless and the plot is depressing.

| Description: | Jim Douglas (Gregory Peck) travels to a small town to watch the hanging of four men he is convinced raped and murdered his wife. When the four men escape, with a hostage, Douglas joins the posse. He ruthlessly tracks down the four men as they kill a neighbor and rape the hostage. He kills three of them, but the fourth convinces him that it wasn't them that killed his wife but the neighbor they murdered. Plagued by guilt, he confesses and begs for forgiveness from the people who consider him a hero for killing the bad guys. Joan Collins hangs around as an old girlfriend who missed her chance but is ready for another one. |
