Description:Master Sergeant Chuck V. Brennan (Karl Malden) is in charge of maintenance on the new B-52s. His daughter Lois (Natalie Wood) thinks his job is unimportant and wants him to leave the Air Force. But Chuck knows what he does is important. Then a new commanding officer shows up — Jim Herlihy (Efrem Zimbalist Jr.). Chuck has had run-ins with him before, and when Jim starts dating Lois, Chuck decides to get out of the force. On a final test flight of the new bomber, Chuck is forced to bail out when the plane catches on fire. He's injured and lost in a remote area, and Jim is the one who keeps searching until he's found. Chuck realizes Jim is a good guy after all and approves of his dating Lois. Lois realizes her dad is important after all and is OK with his decision to stay in the service.

Review - Bombers B-52

A propaganda piece that almost works. The fact that every plane Chuck boards breaks down is rather funny, the plot is a bit to pat and the characters a bit too plastic. But it wasn't awful.
