Description:Vance Reno (Richard Egan), a cavalry officer in the Confederacy, returns home after the war to discover that his family thought he was dead and his girlfriend Cathy (Debra Paget) has married his kid brother, Clint (Elvis Presley). Vance tries to pretend he doesn't mind, but soon realizes he has to leave. Before he can, soldiers show up and demand that Vance return money his troop stole from a Union train the day the war ended. Vance decides it's probably best that he does, but some of the other men in the troop disagree. When Vance rides off to take the money to the soldiers, one of them convinces Clint that Vance is running away with Cathy. When Vance shows up, Clint shoots him in the shoulder. The other guys try to find the money, but Clint has a change of heart and tries to stop them. He gets shot and dies.

Review - Love Me Tender

The beginning was interesting — Vance returning home to find his girlfriend married to his kid brother. But the ending was goofy, with everybody riding around in circles past the same rocks and the same trees over and over. It was one of those plots that depend on nobody listening to or believing what anybody else had to say until it's too late, which causes all sorts of unnecessary confusion. Elvis sang four songs, three of which didn't sound much like Civil War-era songs.
