Description:Glenn Tyler (Elvis) is a troubled young man whose father and brother abuse him. He is placed in his uncle's home and assigned to meet with Irene Sperry (Hope Lange), a psychologist. She discovers his talent for expressing himself and encourages him to write. Glenn falls in love with her, and she with him, although she resists the impulse. Glenn gets in fight and accidentally kills a man. When Irene finds out, she tries to commit suicide. The dead man's father admits that he had a heart condition, so Glenn gets off. Irene helps him get accepted to college, and the movie ends with him leaving on a train.

Review - Wild in the Country

Pretty sappy and melodramatic. I felt like I was watching a soap opera. Elvis has three girlfriends in this movie, played by Hope Lange, Tuesday Weld and Millie Perkins.
