| Description: | Elvis plays Toby Kwimper, a slow-speaking but clever lad who, with his father and a collection of orphans they've adopted along the way, decide to homestead on a beach in Florida. They run into trouble with a floating gambling house and the state authorities, but somehow manage to get through everything with a combination of kindness and native intelligence. A social worker interviews Toby and makes a play for him. When he turns her down, she reports the family to the state and the younger children are taken away. But in court, Toby's slow caginess pays off and the judge rules in their favor. |
