Description:Three soldiers from Iraq meet at an airport and rent a car to drive across the country. Fred (Tim Robbins) is out of the Army and is returning home. T.K. (Michael Pena) is on injury leave and is heading to Vegas. Colee (Rachel McAdams) is also on leave. She's returning a guitar to the family of the soldier/boyfriend who died saving her life. But home life doesn't work out the way any of them expect. Fred's wife wants a divorce. T.K. realizes his fiancee is worthless. Colee finds out her friend has a girlfriend and child at home and is a complete liar. The three weather their storms together and become close friends. Fred re-enlists and they meet again as they head back.

Review - Lucky Ones, The

The movie has some issues — it's crude in a few spots, some of the plot devices are ridiculous and the ending is flat. But the characters of the three and the way they deal with the war and become friends is fascinating.
