Reviews for Transsiberian
Review - Transsiberian
Not entirely plausible, but very atmospheric and suspenceful. I liked Emily Mortimer's character, even though she was seriously flawed.

| Description: | An American couple Roy (Woody Harrelson) and Jesse (Emily Mortimer) take the Transsiberian train from Peking to Moscow. They share their cabin with Carlos and Abby, who claim to be on the way home from teaching in Japan but seem to know a lot about sneaking through customs. Roy misses the train at one stop, so Jesse, Carlos and Abby get off at the next station. Carlos takes Jesse out to a remote area to photograph a ruined church. He gets a bit too friendly and Jesse smacks him with a fence post and kills him. She meets up with Roy and they get back on the train. Grinko (Ben Kingsley), a Russian policeman joins them and begins asking questions. Then Jesse finds heroin Carlos snuck in her bag. She tells Roy who tells Grinko. Next thing they know, they're being dragged to a bunker in the woods. Abby is there, being tortured. Grinko keeps asking them for money that Carlos had. Roy and Jesse are about to be killed but they run back to the train just as another train arrives. Turns out Grinko is crooked and the money was mob money. Jesse's evidence helps the real police catch the mob, but she never reveals what happened to Carlos except to Abby who goes to the body and gets the money. |
