Description:Jeff Baily (Robert Mitchum) runs with mob boss Whit Sterling (Kirk Douglas). Whit sends Jeff to track down Kathie Moffat(Jane Greer). Jeff finds Kathie in Mexico and falls in love. They run off together, but one of Whit's thugs find them. Kathie kills the man in cold blood, then takes off. Jeff hides out in a small town where he runs a gas station. One day, one of Whit's thugs shows up and summons Jeff. He has another mission for Jeff. Kathie's back with Whit, and Jeff soon figures out that she and Whit are trying to frame him for murder. He stays a step ahead for a while, but in the end Kathie shoots Whit, then him before being shot by the police herself.

Review - Out of the Past

A whole lot more complicated than my review makes it sound. I kept up for a while, but then started to lose interest. Jane Greer and Robert Mitchum were both good in their roles as flawed people.
