Description:This movie begins where the 14-episode TV series Firefly leaves off. When the series was cancelled, the director made the movie to finish off the story. In short, Earth is overcrowded, so humanity moves to another galaxy where the planets are converted to support life. The Alliance, a mix of American and Chinese cultures, grows strong and tries to force all people to follow. Rebels battle agains the Alliance, but lose the war. Mal (Nathan Fillion) buys an old Firefly-class spaceship called Serenity and gets together a crew. They make a living carrying cargo - legal and illegal - around the galaxy. They are joined by a young woman named River (Summer Glau) who is a psychic and has been turned into a weapon by the Alliance. Her brother Simon rescued her, but the Alliance wants her back because of what she knows — that the Alliance is responsible for wiping out the 30 million inhabitants of the planet Miranda and turning some of the people into the rampaging Rievers who torture and destroy all who fall into their clutches. A train Alliance assassin is after Serenity. Mal is determined to tell the universe about Miranda. There's a showdown involving the Rievers. One of the crew of Serenity is killed, but the message is sent and the Serenity sails on.

Review - Serenity

The 14 episodes of the show and the movie all sorta make one long movie. I enjoyed it all. Good characters, some funny bits, a lot of action. There were some crude bits, but not too many.
