Review - Ball of Fire
The ending was ridiculous, and the prospects of the marriage aren't good, but it was amusing, with good acting.

Description: | Eight professors working on an encyclopedia, led by Bertram Potts (Gary Cooper) set out to learn street slang. Potts meets Sugarpuss O'Shea (Barbara Stanwyck), a nightclub singer engaged to Joe Lilac (Dana Andrews). The police are after Lilac for murder, and want to subpoena O'Shea. She hides out with the professors, and all eight of them fall in love with her. She tricks Potts into proposing and taking her to NJ, really to meet Lilac. But by the time they meet, O'Shea is in love with Potts too. The professors help capture Lilac and his men, and O'Shea and Potts get married. |
