Description: | Lt. Fairweather (David Tomlinson) is an inept British Navy officer who insists on experimenting with rockets that have a tendency to go wrong. He's assigned to a mothballed ship, the Berkeley, which hasn't had a commanding officer for two years. The crew, led by Doherty (a young and chubby Peter Sellers) has been using the ship as a supply base for the local village for everything from laundry to eggs. Doherty coerces Fairweather to go along. An Admiral comes to inspect and accidentally sinks the ship with Fairweather's latest rocket. They convince the Admiral it was his fault, and he reassigns Fairweather and the crew to new posts. |
