Review - In a Lonely Place
Good acting, but a weird plot. Why bother telling it? Bogart played his part well, but he wasn't a likeable character.

| Description: | Dixon Steele (Humphrey Bogart) is a screenwriter with a temper that regularly gets him into trouble. When a hat-check girl is found murdered -- and Dixon is the last one seen with her -- the cops check him out. But he has an alibi in his neighbor Laurel Gray (Gloria Grahame) who saw the girl leave Dixon's place alone. Soon Dixon and Laurel are in love, but when she sees a couple examples of his temper, she decides it's time to leave. Dixon gets angry with her and threatens to strangle her. He lets up just in time and walks out -- just as the cops call to say he's been cleared of the crime. |
