Description:Nick Butler (James Cagney) is the overseer on a banana plantation in Central America. He plans on returning to the states, but when his boss, Mr. Case (Pat O'Brien) offers him a bonus to stick around for a few weeks, he accepts. Things are complicated by a revolutionary leader and Lee Donley (Ann Sheridan) an American woman looking for a new life. In the end, Butler makes friend with the revolutionary and decides to stick around permenantly with Lee.

Review - Torrid Zone

There wasn't really much of a plot, and I'm not a big fan of Cagney, but I do like Ann Sheridan (even though her role here was ambiguous) and the movie kept me entertained for the most part.
