Description:The Joneses, a perfect family, move into a wealthy neighborhood and soon become the envy of everyone around. It turns out that that's the whole point. They aren't really a family, but a "plant" put there by corporations to sell their up-scale goods. But things start to unravel when Steve (David Duchovny) falls for his wife Kate (Demi Moore) and when their "kids" (Amber Heard and Ben Hollingsworth) begin getting in trouble. When trying to keep up with the Joneses forces their neighbor into bankruptcy and then to suicide, Steve walks away. Kate and the kids get a new "husband" but Steve follows and convinces Kate to go away and have a real life with him.

Review - Joneses, The

Not bad, when taken as a satire about materialism. Of course people aren't quite THAT susceptible to envy and materialism, but they are susceptible and the movie does a good job of pointing out how unsatisfying material things are.
