The final ten minutes, as Amelia and Fred vainly attempted to contact the base on the tiny Pacific Island, was sad and poignant, but the rest of the movie was pretty dull, and if Swank and Gere played their charactes true-to-life, I didn't much care for Earhart of Putnam or their lifestyle.
