Reviews for Jerry Maguire
Review - Jerry Maguire
Well made, with good characters and good acting, although the sports agency industry doesn't do a lot for me. I like to pretend it's just a game.

Description: | Sports agent Jerry Maguire (Tom Cruise), angry over the sort of person his job has forced him to become, writes a "mission statement" about how the buisness could be if everyone were fair and civil. It gets him fired, and in no time he's lost his fiancee and all his clients except one — Rdd Tidwell (Cuba Gooding Jr.), a small wide receiver in the NFL. One person from his company comes with him, Dorothy Boyd (Renee Zellweger), an accountant who likes Jerry's values and is attracted to him. On impulse, the two get married, but as Jerry pushes to succeed on his terms, the relationship falls apart. Tidwell plays well and gets a huge contract, making Jerry solvent and attractive to other clients again. But without Dorothy, he feels nothing. He goes back and makes his appeal and she tells him, "You had me at hello." |
