He meets a group of interesting people, including singer Lenore Brent (Jane Russell) and B movie actor Mark Cardigan (Vincent Price). He discovers that gangster Nick Ferraro (Raymond Burr) is planning on killing him and taking his identity so he can get back into the United States. Dan is captured and taken to Ferraro's yacht. Cardigan, tired of playing the silly actor all his life, rallies some volunteers and the Mexican police and takes off to rescue Dan. Dan kills Ferraro and ends up with the girl.

Review - His Kind of Woman

An odd movie. The first half was pretty noir, with this odd group of people interacting with an undercurrent of violence. But in the second half, when the violence ramps up, it almost becomes a comedy with Vincent Price's character laughing his way through the fight while quoting Shakespeare. I generally don't care much for Jane Russell, but she isn't asked to do much here and managed to pull it off. Mitchum plays his usual understated self and does it well.
