An alley cat searches for food. It braves a dog and enters a house and finds a mouse, but before he can eat it, the mouse tells him a canary is in the next room. (And besides, the mouse explains, he's seen pictures like this before and if he is spared, he'll end up saving the cat's life at some point). The canary is tiny, so the cat feeds it miracle grow. The bird grows gigantic and beats on the cat. The cat drinks the formula and begins chasing the giant bird. Then the dog gets some and chases the cat. Then the mouse finds the bottle and saves the cat. But the cat is still hungry, so he grows bigger. The two keep taking turns drinking from the bottle and chasing each other until the bottle is empty and there is barely room on the earth for the two of them. The cartoon ends with them as friends, waving to the audience.

Review - King-Size Canary

One of my favorites. The storyline is funny and there are several sight gags along the way that had me chuckling.
