Mickey works on a steamboat on which Minnie is a passenger. When a goat eats her sheet music and fiddle, Micky has her crank the goats tail to play "Turkey in the Straw" while he accompanies her by making music with various items and animals on the boat.

Review - Steamboat Willie

Having seen something of the history of animation by watching Disney's Alice's Wonderland, The Mechanical Cow (with Oswald the Rabbit) and the first Mickey cartoon Plane Crazy, I get a greater appreciation for the advances Disney was making and how this cartoon must have appealed to audiences.

It doesn't have much of a plot, but it is clever.
