Review - Superman
The story is weak, but the animation is visually impressive, giving Superman all his retro-coolness.

| Description: | Fleischer Studios — The first in the series of Fleischer Superman cartoons. After briefly telling Superman's origin story, the action moves to Metropolis where Clark Kent is working for the newspaper. A mad scientist is threatening to destroy the city with his energy ray. Lois Lane takes off in her plane to find the story and is promptly captured by the scientist and tied up where she can see the destruction on a screen. The scientist destroys a bridge and goes to work on the newspaper building before Superman, a bit slow on the uptake, arrives to stand the building upright again and then follow the beam back to the scientist's lab. He destroys the cannon, rescues Lois and captures the mad man, then returns to his job and sits humbly by while Lois gets credit for the story. |
