Description:After the Civil War, Union Colonel John Henry Thomas (John Wayne) takes his cavalry troop west to round up a herd of wild horses to take to Mexico to sell to the government. Along the way, he meets a band of ex-Confederate soldiers and their families, led by Colonel James Langdon (Rock Hudson). The two groups spar with each other a bit, but decide to be friends and help each other out. They join to fight off a band of bandits. When Langdon's people get to their destination, they find themselves prisoners of Mexican revolutionaries who demand that Langdon get Thomas to turn over all his horses to them. Thomas agrees and trades the horses for the Confederates, after fighting off a random band of French soldiers hired by the Mexican government.

Reviews for The Undefeated

Review - Undefeated, The

This one was a muddle. Wayne was hurt and couldn't do anything but sit his horse. Hudson was awful as the Confederate colonel, with an awful accent to match. Roman Gabriel, the NFL quarterback was along and an Indian lad named Blue Boy who fell in love with Langdon's daughter. It was supposed to be an epic, but mostly it was a contrived, dull waste of time with no ending (Thomas' cowboys and Langdon's Confederates all decide to ride together back to the states.)
