Description:Sam McCord (John Wayne) has just struck it rich with a goldmine in Alaska, with his partners George (Stewart Granger) and George's younger brother Billy (Fabian). Sam travels to Seattle to buy equipment. George asks him to pick up his fiancee and bring her back. When Sam gets to the woman's house, he discovers she's married. At a bar, he meets Angel (Capucine) and, on a whim, decides to take her back for George. Angel misunderstands and thinks Sam wants her. She falls in love with him because he is the first man to treat her like a lady. When they get to Alaska, George realizes that Angel and Sam are in love and tries to fix them up together. But first there's some silliness about a con artist Frankie (Ernie Kovacs) staking a rival claim on their mine. It all gets settled in a huge fight in the mud in the streets of Nome and Sam finally admits he loves Angel.

Review - North to Alaska

Silly but entertaining. A lot of people get punched without receiving any bruises or cuts. A lot of people shoot their guns without hitting anything. There's slapstick throughout. Wayne's pretty good in a comedy role. But Capucine steals the show with her constant playing to the camera.
