Description:Roy Rogers works for a Spanish don soon after California became a state. When the don's gold shipment is robbed, the don's major domo, La Rue, frames Roy. But Roy's girlfriend, Jean (Lynne Roberts) convinces the don to hear Roy's side of the story. La Rue kills the don and frames Roy, but the don's son also believes Roy. They set up a trap with another gold shipment, and La Rue is killed.

Review - In Old Caliente

I can't figure out who the target audience was for Roy Rogers movies. To begin with Rogers couldn't act to save his life. The plots were cookie-cutter dull with too many characters. And the action was broken every 10 minutes or so for Roy to sing a sappy ballad that wouldn't have appealed to kids. Just weird all around.
