Description: | Sidney (Alec Guinness) develops a fabric that lasts forever and repels dirt. He has a hard time convincing anyone to believe him, but he finally gets one mill owner to give him a chance. But before word gets out, the other mill owners and the workers' union both realize that they'll be out of jobs if Sidney succeeds. The gang up to stop him and end up chasing him through the streets. When the finally catch him, his suit becomes unstable and unravels. Everyone laughs at him, but as the movie ends, Sidney realizes how to fix the instability. |
