Review - Marty
Cute movie about two lonely people who realize that they can be happy together and that those who don't want them to are all miserable themselves.

| Description: | Marty (Ernest Borgnine) is a 35-year old butcher in NYC. All his younger brothers and sisters are married, but he can't get a date. He hangs out every night with his best friend Angie. Angie talks Marty into going to a dance hall on a Saturday night. Marty can't find anyone to dance with him, but then he sees Clara (Betsy Blair) being stood up by her date, so he asks her to dance. They hit it off talking about how ugly they each think they are and by the end of the night, they're interested in each other. Marty's friends and mother (who thinks she'll be abandoned by her son) all try to talk him out of seeing Clara again, but when Marty realizes how miserable their lives are, he calls her up. |
