Description:Millionaire Jervis Pendleton III travels to France and enters an orphanage to use the phone when his car breaks down. He sees Julie Andre (Leslie Caron), an 18-year-old girl who has lived there her whole life. Taken by the girls charm, Jervis becomes her anonymous donor and pays her way through college. Julie writes him letters, not knowing who he is, and calls him Daddy Long Legs. when Jervis reads the letters, he goes to the college and meets Julie. They fall in love with each other, but Jervis is convinced he's too old and so takes off. But when Julie graduates, he tells her that he is her guardian and asks her to marry him.

Review - Daddy Long Legs

I'm not convinced that a woman Julie's age (22?) would fall for a man Jarvis' age (no mentioned, but Fred Astaire was 56), and the plot and fantasy dance sequences weren't great, but I was impressed with Leslie Caron and liked her character.
