Reviews for The Three Musketeers
Review - Three Musketeers, The
Lively and amusing. Some of the fight scenes are so chaotic it's hard to believe they were choreographed in advance, if the were.

| Description: | Young D'Artagnan (Michael York) travels to Paris to become one of the king's musketeers. He meets other musketeers Athos (Oliver Reed), Aramis (Richard Chamberlain) and Porthos (Frank Finlay) when he challenges them all to a duel, but before they can fight they are attacked by the guard of Cardinal Richelieu (Charlton Heston). When D'Artagnan helps the musketeers, they ask him to join them. He takes a room in a boarding house and falls in love with the landlord's wife Constance (Raquel Welch) who is one of the queen's ladies. The queen is having an affair with Lord Buckingham of England. She gives him a diamond necklace that was a present from the king. The Cardinal wants to ruin her, so he sends Lady DeWinter (Faye Dunaway) to England to steal some of the diamonds from the necklace, then tells the king to ask the queen to wear the necklace. Constance tells D'Artagnan and he and the Three Musketeers ride for England. D'Artagnan gets the necklace and brings it to the queen in time to foil the Cardinal's plot. |
