Description:Lily (Barbara Stanwyck) grows up in her father's speakeasy where he exploits her for money. She decides to take off for New York where she sleeps her way up the ladder at a bank until she's with the president. When an abandoned V.P. kills the president and then himself in his grief over Lily, the bank gets a new president, former playboy Trenholm. He figures out Lily's game and sends her off to the Paris branch to keep her from selling her story to the papers. Months later, he visits Paris and is surprised to find Lily still at the bank and working hard. He falls for her and they get married. When the bank fails, Lily refuses to help him by giving back what he's given her. She takes off but returns just as he tries to kill himself. She gives up her ways and stays faithful, finally finding love. A very young John Wayne plays one of the men she exploits at the bank on the way up.

Review - Baby Face

Certainly not subtle. The acting was pretty wooden, but this was made in 1933.
