| Description: | A six-man platoon is charged with holding a section of line in the face of the Germans. They are joined by Private Driscoll (Bob Newhart), a clerk with no fighting experience. Four of the men are killed during the night. The remaining two join the reinforcements in an attack the next morning. Super soldier Reese (Steve McQueen) is killed in a suicide attack on a pillbox. The only remaining men are Private Corby (Bobby Darin) and Driscoll. |
